Fear and Self-doubt have become my best friends. I…
Hey faves! I haven’t been here in forever and it’s mostly because I’ve been taking life one step at a time and trying to understand it all. Do you ever have life experiences that just leave you with serious emotions, you go from “wow” to “really” to “oh wow” to… okay if someone doesn’t stop me I’d keep going on. I haven’t had my head in a place since July and for some reason, it was starting to affect my mental health. My family moved to Owerri about a month ago and I have never been this grateful about relocating. In the past few weeks I’ve evaluated my life and I want to share a few life hacks.
1. SELF DOUBT KILLS SLOWLY: Have you ever had a moment when you’re super good at something, then you meet people doing it better and you begin to look down on your own potentials and ability. Here’s a fun fact, those doing it better, the ones you envy, they didn’t just wake up one morning and boom! they are successful, unless they sha played some odds on bet9ja. I had my fair share of self doubt, I met a few new people and rather than letting myself get inspired, I was being envious and it made me loose myself. I woke up every morning doubting myself, forgetting that I also inspire some people. Stop looking down on yourself because even if they don’t say it, you inspire a lot of people, that should be a genuine reason to buckle up your life fam! Just going to drop this line a friend told me “doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will”. Use it as a lock screen reminder, been working for me for days now.
2.GET MOTIVATED BY YOUR PAST: If you read Our Daily Manna Prayerbook, you’d know where this is coming from. I was having a regular morning and I came across the devotional for that day, October 2nd and have I ever felt that the universe wanted to speak to me more than I did that day? I’ve been holding on to something bad that happened to me in the past and I’ve been using it to make excuses for being sad. I refused to see that I could actually get motivated by that particular event. Here’s an example, you lost your car (God forbid nothing is happening to anybody’s car in Jesus name lol.) and then rather than sulking and craving pity, you work harder, channel all that hurt in you into something productive and get yourself a better car in the space of no time. It works in every situation, if it’s something you can’t replace physically, getting your mind to heal is all the motivation you need. Try it! 3. LIVE IN THE MOMENT, LIVE FOREVER: If you do things in life knowing at the back of your mind that we only live once, then you’d die a happy death when it’s time to go to the great beyond or the heavens or unicorn land or wherever it is people go after they die. Life’s too short to be negative minded and to have bad energy. Before the year ends, do something exciting, go on that sling shot, hike that mountain, pitch that business idea to your boss, have that movie night with your friends, tell your crush you like her/him, it’s one chance we all have. Do what makes you happy as long as you’re not hurting anyone. You could borrow my favorite line “live once, while living forever”
4. DREAM MORE & EXECUTE MUCH MORE: Have you ever pitched in your dream to someone and they try to make you feel less of yourself? I’m here to be your spirit guide and tell you to dream a lot more, the idea of being successful all starts from the mind. If you can think it and believe it, then you can achieve it! Don’t let anyone or anything hold you back from living all your dreams out.
5.YOU CAN BE AN OPEN BOOK, ONLY TO THE RIGHT PEOPLE: I used to have a bad habit of letting people in on all of my business, most times before I tell them my stuff, I try to notice how they are with other people’s gist. I’ve met a few people that can actually die with my secret and would never spill, those are the people I confide in. It’s not bad to be an open book, it doesn’t mean you’re completely vulnerable but then know the right people to vent to before you go ahead and do so. Also before you start venting to someone, ask them if they are mentally ready to carry your problem with you.
I hope these hacks work for you the same way it is for me.
WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO LATELY;
AMPLIFY MASTERCLASS: This was all the breathe of fresh air I needed, it helped me find myself and understand my niche properly. I made a few new friends that I’m totally grateful for how easy each of them made it.
NGWORI FESTIVAL: I’m part of the team organizing this one, I might have joined the team late but then I’m just here to invite all you lovely people, you’d come yeah? I’ve been attending events lately and it’s been shades of different things, story for another day I guess. I’m still having a hard time posing for pictures probably because I haven’t found my picture angles and it’s not like I’m not trying.
WEEKEND MOVIE SUGGESTIONS:

All on Netflix, don’t worry I just might share my details with you.
Pictures above are from my day at The Art Gallery I discovered in Owerri. I’d take better shots and make a whole blog post about it.
